Les Kemp

Les has been involved with children’s services for over 36 years, having worked for Barnsley MBC  as a teacher for six years and for Wakefield MDC as a senior manager in Special Education including a residential school for children with Emotional, Social, Behavioural, Difficulties. When Les left education he worked for Barnsley MBC in Educational Welfare before joining the National Charity ‘Family Action’ as an early intervention/ drug and alcohol specialist worker.  Les has delivered parenting courses for Family Action and facilitated the Separated Parents Information Programme on behalf of Cafcass. He is a trained child bereavement worker and worked as part of a team supporting children in Barnsley for four years.

Other projects he has worked in for Barnardos include coordinating Family Group Conferences, child protection advocacy and Young Carers .

Les has worked as a behaviour management consultant for schools and other organisations since leaving education.

Les has organised and facilitated group work and teams for both adults and children over many years both within his work and as a sports coach.Driven by professionalism, quality and focus, Les has a strong belief in the inner strengths,qualities and resources that all individuals possess.
