Special Educational Needs Support Services Association

Preferred Futures are very pleased to announce that they have recently been commissioned by SENSSA to work with up to twenty local authorities.

SENSSA was formed 25 years ago to actively promote awareness and understanding of the role of professionals in special educational needs support and outreach services. It collated and disseminated information to members and facilitated professional development, providing an active network to share good practice and address issues of professional interest. Recent developments around such services have meant that the Association has been less active and it has decided that it be dissolved. The SENSSA committee have decided to use its remaining funds to offer training on Family Group Conferences and how they might be of benefit to children with special needs. The training will be delivered by Preferred Futures and will be offered to Local Authorities in Yorkshire and Humberside and the North East that supported the work of SENSSA in recent times.
